Celebrating International Youth Day
September 02 2025 – YMCA Gear

At Y Gear, we reinvest all surpluses back into the Y, supporting young people to lead, create, and shape a better future. We’re proud to be part of something bigger.
This International Youth Day, we're celebrating the incredible projects we’ve supported this year that reflect our deep commitment to youth voice, creativity, and leadership.
👕 WhyNot x Y Design NAIDOC T-Shirt Competition
We invited young creatives to design a NAIDOC T-shirt, honouring First Nations culture and storytelling. The winning design by Stephen Landers was made available through Y Gear for staff to wear at Y locations throughout the country.
⭐️ Supporting Y Youth Parliament Programs
We were proud to supply custom T-shirts and merchandise for Y Youth Parliament teams nationwide. These items gave young changemakers a strong, united identity while representing their local programs.
💜 WhyNot x Wear It Purple Day Competition
Partnering with WhyNot, we launched a youth-led design competition to celebrate Wear It Purple Day, giving young people a platform to express their ideas around visibility, inclusion, and pride.
🎨 Artist Collab: WhyNot x Jaime Colley
We collaborated with artist Jaime Colley and Why Not to create exclusive merch. The result? A bold, artistic tote bag and calendar that championed self-expression and community.
🖤 Project Y Shirts for Base@Belmont Youth Centre
We helped kit out young people at the Base@Belmont Youth Centre with Project Y T-shirts, helping build a sense of belonging at their local youth space.
💪 Youth Squad Shirts for Y WA
For the passionate Youth Squad in Western Australia, we supplied custom Y-Shirts, empowering the team to represent, connect, and lead in their communities.
From empowering young artists to uniting youth leaders, every project we’ve supported this year reflects our belief in the potential of the next generation. At Y Gear, every purchase helps us continue this work; investing in youth voice, creativity, and leadership to build stronger, more connected communities.
