Artist statement
Hi, my name is Jessie and I am a young neurodiverse artist and the person behind Gentoo studios. I make and create art to express myself and my emotions and that is exactly what this piece captures and represents. On the front of the tee I have drawn a snail hiding in the bushes with the words "don't hide“ to represent someone hiding their true self and on the back is the snail showing their "true colours” with pride. 🌈 I choose to create this particular design for wear it purple day because I wanted to show people that it is ok to be yourself and to ALWAYS let your true colours shine with pride. ✨ I chose a snail as the character because they are cute and fun to draw, especially when they have a rainbow shell!
