🌟 Celebrating International Youth Day 🌟
August 12 2026 – YMCA Gear
At Y Gear, we reinvest all surpluses back into the Y, supporting young people to lead, create and shape a better future. We’re proud to be part of something bigger.
This International Youth Day, we're celebrating some of the incredible projects we’ve supported this year that reflect our deep commitment to youth voice, creativity, and leadership.
👕 Y Design NAIDOC T-Shirt Competition
Our annual NAIDOC Week t-shirts celebrated the voices and creativity of young First Nations people. The design, created by 16-year-old Paige from Western Australia, told a powerful story of connection, culture and community, while honouring the strength, resilience and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Elders, past, present and future.
⭐️ WhyNot x Interupt the Noise Tees
Designed by young creative Divyata, this limited edition t-shirt celebrated the courage, perseverance and determination of young people creating positive change. The design recognised those who used their voices, volunteered their time and stood up for the communities they cared about.
📔 International Womens Day Notebook
Created in collaboration with Why Not, our international Women's Day notebook collection showcased artwork by two young creatives. Each design explored themes of justice, equality and the lived experiences of women, providing a platform for young artists to share their perspectives through meaningful design.
🏳️🌈 Mardi Gras
Working alongside Y Australia, we helped bring the "Constellations of Us" concept to life through a vibrant collection of event merchandise. Featuring galaxy-inspired graphics, layered details and light-beam elements, the collection celebrated individuality, visibility and pride while supporting a more inclusive community for LGBTQIA+ young people.
💜 WhyNot x Wear It Purple Day Competition
Working with our friends at WhyNot, we created the 2026 Wear It Purple Day T-shirt to give young people a platform to share their creativity and stories. Featuring Fiona's winning design, Birds of a Feather, the tee celebrates belonging, individuality and inclusion. Every purchase helped support WhyNot's work to amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ young people and create communities where everyone feels they belong.
⚖️ Youth Parliament Hoodies
We were proud to provide hoodies to the Y Youth Parliament teams. These hoddies gave young changemakers a strong, united identity while representing their local programs, helping them feel connected, confident and ready to advocate for the issues that matter most to their communities.
